Carole Monnet is a french player that has some talent. I watched her play and lose her game in roland garros junior a few months ago and i liked her fighting spirit on the court. Tomorrow, her motivation will be lower than if she was playing a junior grand chelem at home. Perhaps she could be tired after 2 consecutive wins in 3 sets.
But to be honest i cant resist to take that bet! Monnet is a young girl who was born in eastern europe and has been adopted by a french family, and now her big dream is to be a top player. Tennis is her life, and like many adopted children, they have a revenge to take on life and they want to be someone through their professional life.
She is only 18 and the french technical direction believes that she has great chances to be a futur good player (let's be optimistic and say top200 which is already not too bad).
In front, tomorrow, she will play against a player that is struggling to survive, not earning much money, currently ranked around 400 even though she is doing her second best season of her career. But my problem with Pigossi is that she's 25 and she wont be a top player, she will vegetate on the itf tour all her life. She doesnt serve very well, she can make some dfs on key moments. Her tennis is based on pushing, usually trying to keep the ballon the court. But on hardcourt she also try to attack depending of her opponent and does a lot of unforced errors. Why ? because she's brazilian and used to mostly play in south america on clay court, slow surface where the most important in itf is to defend well. Monnet is used to hardcourt and indoor, quick courts.
I don't like Pigossi up and down during her matches, she can choke at anytime, she can barely keep a consistent tennis during 1 or 2 hours. She will always give free points to the opponent. Then against Monnet that is playing with confidence since a few days, the step is too high.
I dont like to bet on a french player @ 1.66 which is not too high in my opinion but let's say 1.66 is not too bad for a player playing with confidence. Last but not least, it's a big lay of the brazilian, i'm not a big fan of her, i watched her play a few times and i'm not convinced by her tennis.
