Dominic Calvert-Lewin will aim to heap more misery on his former club when Everton travel to Brammal Lane to face Sheff Utd on Boxing Day.

The Blades are rock bottom of the table, with zero wins, two draws and 12 defeat from 14 games so far.

They are on course to finish the season with the lowest points tally in Premier League history.

Sheff Utd did battle to a 1-1 draw with Brighton last weekend, despite having John Lundstram sent off in the first half, but they could struggle to contain an in-form Everton attack on Saturday.

Everton Rediscover Fine Form

Everton came flying out of the blocks this season. They were touted as title contenders after winning their first four games in comfortable fashion and then drawing with Liverpool.

They suffered a dip in form, but they have now won their last three games. That has catapulted them back up to fourth in the table, ahead of Chelsea, Spurs and Man City, and just five points behind leaders Liverpool.

Calvert-Lewin has been the star of the show. He has scored 11 goals in 14 games so far, and his lethal finishing ability has seen him break into the England team.

He spent two years at Sheff Utd before moving to Everton for £1.5 million back in 2016, and he has now matured into an excellent striker.

Ancelotti Proves His Worth

The Toffees were missing both full-backs, holding midfielder Allan and playmaker James Rodriguez last weekend, but still managed to beat Arsenal.

Sheff Utd’s Chris Wilder earned plaudits for leading the unfancied Blades to a ninth placed finish last term, but Everton’s Carlo Ancelotti has won the Champions League three times and won domestic titles in Italy, England, France, Spain, and Germany.

He is a world-class manager, and he has better players at his disposal than Wilder. It might sound risky to bet against the Blades when they seem to be improving, but Everton really should win this match.
