Liverpool are now the clear favourites to win the Premier League title after earning a thrilling 2-1 victory over Tottenham on Wednesday night.

That win saw them open up a three-point lead over Spurs at the top of the table, and it also left them eight points clear of Man City.

They will now aim to tighten their grip on the title race when they travel to Selhurst Park to take on a dangerous Crystal Palace side on Saturday.

Benteke Suspended

The Eagles picked up an emphatic 5-1 win against 10-man West Brom a couple of weeks ago. Since then they have held Tottenham to a 1-1 draw, and battled to a 1-1 draw away at in-form West Ham, so they are not to be taken lightly.

Wilfried Zaha, Eberechi Eze, Andros Townsend, Patrick van Aanholt and Jeffrey Schlupp all attack with pace, purpose and invention.

However, Christian Benteke will be suspended for this game. Some fans may view that as a blessing in disguise, as the former Liverpool striker has endured a pretty torrid time in south London, but he has scored three goals in his last three games, so he could be missed.

Liverpool also have a strong record against Crystal Palace, having won the last six meetings between these clubs, so the Reds should be confident of victory on Saturday.

Williams Grows in Confidence

Liverpool are beset by injury problems, but they still managed to beat title contenders Tottenham with a central defensive pairing of Rhys Williams and Fabinho on Wednesday. Klopp singled out the "outstanding" Williams for praise after the game.

The front three of Roberto Firmino, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mané is extremely potent, and Jordan Henderson should relish the midfield battle with Lika Milivojevic and James McArthur.

This is unlikely to result in a thumping victory for Liverpool, but they should just about get the job done.
