Huesca vs. Sevilla: Great Value Available on the Visitors

Published by Martin Green, 25 November 2020

The odds on Sevilla picking up an away win against newly promoted Huesca on Saturday evening look really attractive.

Julen Lopetegui’s men extended their winning streak to four games when they beat Krasnodar 2-1 in Russia on Tuesday.

They should have plenty of time to recover for this important match against Huesca, the draw kings of Spanish football.

Huesca Struggle in Top Flight

Huesca are the only winless team in La Liga this season. They have seven draws and three defeats from 10 games thus far, and that has left them marooned in the relegation zone.

They are a stubborn team to play against, as they have battled for a share of the spoils on so several occasions already this season. However, they are a little toothless in front of goal and sloppy at the back.

Huesca lack star quality. They invested less than €5 million in bolstering the squad after securing promotion from Segunda Division last term, and it shows.

Their best players are forwards Rafa Mir and Javi Ontiveros, but the spine of the team is not particularly solid, which does not bode well for the arrival of Sevilla.

Sevilla Gain Momentum

Lopetegui’s side made a sluggish start to the season. That could be attributed to fatigue, as they beat Inter in the Europa League final in late August and did not have much time to rest up ahead of the new campaign.

However, they seem to have found their stride in recent weeks. Back-to-back La Liga victories over Osasuna and Celta Vigo have carried them up to seventh in the standings, with games in hand on the teams above them.

They finished fourth last term, and they have more than enough quality to secure another top four finish this time around.

Sevilla may lack an out-and-out goalscorer, but Luuk de Jong, Youssef En-Nesyri and Munir El Haddadi all have reasonable records in front of goal.

They are exceptionally solid at the back, and the likes of Lucas Ocampos, Joan Jordan and Ivan Rakitic offer great quality on the ball, so they should have enough guile to get the better of Huesca this weekend.
