Still wide open

It doesn't matter how quality football is played in the NFC East, it will still draw a lot of attention from the NFL fans. This year, division was mocked for horrendous football and all the teams struggling to win, except when they played each other. Leading the division at the moment is Philadelphia with 3-6-1 record and there are decent chances that the winner of the division will have a losing record in the end. But, it's interesting that all the teams are tied at three wins a piece at the moment and the race for the title is wide open.

It seems like all of them realised that and managed to raise the level of their games in the last couple of weeks or so. The Giants won two in a row, before going into their bye week. And both of these teams won last week as well. Washington topped Cincinnati, in a game where they played well defensively and limited Joe Burrow's production, before he got injured. On the other side, Dallas was also pretty impressive after the return of Andy Dalton. They had to go with Ben DiNucci and Garrett Gilbert in the last two games, but came up short in both. They were happy to get The Red Rifle back so quickly and it showed why.

Good adjustments

Also, one of the key adjustments for Dallas was moving their All-Pro right guard Zack Martin outside to RT position. It bought Dalton more time to scan the field, because he was pressured on only 11% of the dropbacks and was sacked only once. Those numbers were way lower compared to those before his injury, when Zack Martin was on the interior. This time, a very dangerous front seven is coming to town, so they'll have work cut out for them, no matter where Martin is playing.

Defensively, they still have issues. They lack experience in the secondary, where they really struggled to stop anybody this year. Their No.2 corner Anthony Brown seems to be out for this game, making this a very good-looking matchup for the emerging Washington receiving corps. Terry McLaurin proved his worth already and is the favorite target of Alex Smith. But some of the other guys like Steven and Cam Sims will also get an opportunity to pile up some yards in this one.

Cowboys vs Football Team betting tips

First game between these two opponents was played soon after the injury of Dak Prescott, during that horrific 3-game series for Cowboys when they were losing on average by more then three touchdowns. I don't think it's going to be like that this time around. The Cowboys managed to regroup and will be a much tougher opponent for Washington. But I'm still not sure if it's justified to line them as 3-point favorites here.

I still think Washington is a well-coached team. They have some talent at several positions, but effort and discipline are the trademark of this team, which is no surprise, considering that they are led by oldschool coaches like Ron Rivera and Jack Del Rio. Looking at the player props, I do like some of these Washington's receivers in this matchup as I mentioned earlier. Cam Sims had a quiet one last week, but played really well in two games prior. I like the value of the TD prop, since he's massive for receivers and will become a target in the red-zone sooner or later. Another bet is Terry McLaurin over receiving yards. He has an almost guaranteed target share from Alex Smith and Cowboys have nobody to cover him successfully.
