Fulham vs. Everton – Great Value on the Visitors

Fulham vs. Everton – Great Value on the Visitors

Published by Martin Green, 12 November 2020

This is an early outlook on the Premier League game between Fulham, scheduled to take place on Saturday, 21 November, at Craven Cottage.

Right now there is excellent value on the away team, who will be desperate to bounce back with a win after suffering a slump in form.

Everton came flying out of the blocks this season, picking up consecutive victories over Tottenham, West Brom, Crystal Palace and Brighton. They scored 12 goals in those four matches, and then held Liverpool to a very creditable draw at Goodison Park.

However, results have since gone south for the Toffees, and they really need a win to get their season back on track.

A Matter of Urgency

Forward Richarlison was sent off at the end of the game against Liverpool, and he was badly missed. Everton lost 2-0 to Southampton in their subsequent match, in which Lucas Digne was shown a red card and James Rodriguez suffered an injury.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side looked toothless in attack with Rodriguez and Richarlison in a 2-1 defeat to Newcastle, and they then lost 3-1 to Man Utd last time out.

That has seen Everton slip from the top of the table down to seventh, and they need to return to winning ways quickly.

Cottagers Struggle

Fulham should prove to be obliging opponents. The Cottagers have lost six out of eight games so far this season, and they are languishing in 17th place.

Their performance levels have improved in recent weeks, but they cannot match Everton in terms of quality.

It is a little risky betting on a team during an international break, as key players can suffer injuries or come back suffering from fatigue and jet lag.

Richarlison is back from suspension, but he has linked up with the Brazil squad, while Rodriguez is also in South America with Colombia and star striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin is expected to play for England.

Yet there is currently a great deal of value on an Everton win, so it might be worth seizing that price now before it drops in the days before the game.
