Real Sociedad will aim to consolidate their position at the top of the table when they host newly promoted Huesca at Anoeta on Sunday.

The Basque side pulled off a significant coup when they signed former Man City playmaker David Silva on a free transfer in the summer. He made his debut in a 0-0 draw with champions Real Madrid, and he has now established himself as an integral member of the team.

Mikel Oyarzabal, Mikel Merino and Portu are all quality players, and Silva pulls the strings with aplomb, so Real Sociedad’s midfield looks extremely dynamic right now.

La Liga's Form Team

Imanol Alguacil’s men finished sixth last season. They benefited from the superb form of on-loan midfielder Martin Odegaard. He has since returned to parent club Real Madrid, but Silva’s arrival more than makes up for that loss.

Real Sociedad will now be keen to challenge for a place in the top four. They beat a strong, well-drilled Getafe side 3-0 on October 3, and then followed it up with a 3-0 win away at Real Betis in their last game.

Fatigue could be an issue, as they face a trip to Croatia to face Rijeka in the Europa League tonight, but they should still have enough quality to put Huesca to the sword.

Draw Kings

Huesca have emerged as the draw kings of La Liga. They have five draws and one defeat from six games so far this season, and they have taken points off Atletico Madrid, Villarreal and Valencia.

It shows that they are a difficult team to break down, but Real Sociedad really should have enough ingenuity in the midfield to unlock this stubborn defence, and they are well priced to win the game.
