Man City will aim for a ninth consecutive win against West Ham when they travel to London to face David Moyes’ side on Saturday.

They have beaten the Hammers home and away in every single season since Pep Guardiola replaced Manuel Pellegrini in the dugout. Six out of those eight wins have come via a margin of at least two goals, and they thrashed West Ham 5-0 at the London Stadium last season.

Aguero Gives West Ham Nightmares

One man that really loves playing against the Hammers is Sergio Aguero. The Argentinean striker has banged in 10 goals and provided four assists in just 14 appearances against them.

His return from injury has galvanised Man City’s squad, and they have recorded back-to-back victories over Arsenal and Porto since he returned to the starting line-up.

City look a lot more dangerous with Aguero leading the line and Raheem Sterling out wide. Kevin De Bruyne is still out injured, along with Aymeric Lapore and Gabriel Jesus, but City have also been boosted by the return of Ilkay Gundogan, while Ferran Torres scored his first goal for the club against Porto on Wednesday.

Fine Spirits

West Ham will be in fine spirits after coming back from a 3-0 deficit to draw 3-3 with Spurs last time out. They won their previous two leagues games, beating Wolves and Leicester convincingly.

However, question marks still linger over the Hammers defence, and Man City have the quality to punish any weaknesses in ruthless fashion.

Guardiola’s men will be buoyed by the news that their closest title rivals, Liverpool, have been weakened by a long-term injury to Virgil Van Dijk. They now have a great opportunity to return to the summit of English football, and that starts at the London Stadium on Saturday.
