False alarm

First loss of the season for the Chiefs was the talking point around the NFL last week. They fell to their divisional rivals (Las Vegas Raiders), after being completely outplayed in the second half. Raiders found a way to deal with Pat Mahomes and Chiefs' offense, limiting them to only 8 (garbage-time) points in the second half. They did few creative things defensively, like using one of their D-lineman as a spy to prevent Mahomes running around and extending plays. Some of those things were done by the Patriots the week earlier but unlike the Raiders, they were unable to capitalize on it.

Many people are saying that Chiefs got figured out and that every defense will now copy this defensive gameplan that Patriots and the Raiders implemented. But I don't think so. and Reid and his staff will adjust to it. They faced a similar situation in 2017, when the Steelers held them to 13 points after a scorching-hot start to the season by their offense. That version of cover 2 defense worked against the Chiefs for about two weeks before they were able to adjust and move on. That will inevitably happen this time around, as well.

There's a way

Struggling Bills defense could be a solid bounceback spot. Despite Sean McDermott being a defensive specialist and having enough talent on that side of the ball, things are simply not happening for that unit. Another problem in this game could be a few important names on the injury report. I am talking about Tre'Davious White and Matt Milano. White is a true No.1 corner that would probably shadow Tyreek Hill and possibly took him out of the game. While Milano is one of the best coverage linebackers and could maybe limit production of Travis Kelce.

But there are many if's and could's there. Bottom line is, this Chiefs offense is still very dangerous and efficient, making it very difficult to stop. They actually added another strong piece to an already great unit. Of course, I'm talking about Le'Veon Bell, who was released by the Jets earlier last week. He will add another dimension to their offense and take some burden off of Edwards-Helaire's shoulders. Especially in the passing game. Luckily for the Bills, he is not cleared to play yet and will have to wait at least another week for his debut.

Bills vs Chiefs betting tips

Another thing that opposing teams should do to slow the Chiefs down is exposing their run defense, extend the drives and keep Mahomes on the sidelines. But I'm not sure if Bills are built to do that. Lately, they are relying rather heavily on the arm of Josh Allen and his improved receiving core. Coaching staff was not pleased with Singletary's efficiency lately. And despite being slated for heavy workload in Moss' absence, he didn't get it in the last two games. As a matter of fact, they even mixed in TJ Yeldon quite a lot there last week. With Moss back in the lineup, things can get messy in the Buffalo's backfield, which is why I am going to fade Singletary in this situation.

On the other side, absence of Sammy Watkins will give the opportunity to some other players. Demarcus Robinson was a non-factor the last three weeks, but logged a nice amount of snaps after Watkins went down last week. Considering the extra attention that Kelce and Hill will get, Robinson and Hardman will be targeted more than usual in this one.
