It feels quite strange writing it, but in just one weeks time the Premier League will actually return!
A few days later, on Sunday 21, Newcastle United host Sheffield United at St James' Park and I believe there are quite a few interesting bets to be considered.

It's hard to tell what impact such an interruption as the Covid-19 lockdown might have on football, but there are a few findings from the restart of the German Bundesliga that might have some application on the restart of the Premier League as well:

Before the break, there was on average 3.25 goals scored per game in the Bundesliga.
After the break, there has been on average 3.02 goals scored per game in the Bundesliga.

Before the break, there was on average 1.75 goals scored by the home team per game in the Bundesliga.
After the break, there has been on average 1.28 goals scored by the home team per game.

Before the break, there was on average 1.37 goals scored in the first half per game in the Bundesliga.
After the break, there has been on average 1.17 goals scored in the first half per game in the Bundesliga.

The Magpies reside in 13th place, 7 points clear of the relegation zone.
