MIBR

MIBR were in good form yesterday in their match against Chaos, which they won 2-0. This upcoming match against Liquid is extremely important for MIBR as it could decide whether they qualify for playoffs or exit the tournament early in the group stage, like they did at ESL Road to Rio.

This next match for MIBR should give a good indication of where they are as a team with the addition of new member trk who hasn't currently performed to the level most are expecting. MIBR played Liquid recently in the ESL Road to Rio tournament, where they lost in 2 close maps, with this new addition of ‘trk’ to their roster they should be confident in their ability to win this match securing a place in the playoffs knowing the last time out they was about to replace one of their players.

Liquid

Liquid’s inconsistencies have continued as they are now 0-2 in this group after losing to Chaos and Furia, teams you would expect them to beat. This is most likely explained by the fact that ‘Stewie2K’ is now the in-game leader and is inexperienced in this new role. He did lead years ago taking Cloud9 to a win at the major, but since then metas are always changing and the game has evolved. This is a very recent change to Liquid and was made as the old in-game leader ‘nitr0’ wanted to be able to focus on his game as he felt he isn’t playing very well.

This match is important for Liquid even though they are 0-2 in their group a win in this match would give them a chance of qualifying for the playoffs. However, ‘Stewie2K’ has been quoted recently saying that he is unmotivated to play due to how many official matches they are currently playing and that he believes this tight schedule does not allow them to solve their problem of who should be the in-game leader rather than him being forced to take the role.

My Bet Reasoning

Both teams have made 2 pretty big changes, MIBR have brought in a new player for this event and Liquid have changed their in game leader for this event. When they played just under a month ago both maps could of gone MIBRs way with a couple of rounds going their way and a little bit of luck on their side.

I don't think either of these teams are in good form, both are actually in really bad form actually from what you expect from these 2 teams but I just see MIBR as a clear pick here because they are so over priced.
