Poland Cup

26.05.2020 Miedź Legnica vs Legia Warszawa

27.05.2020 Stal Mielec vs Lech Poznań

In this special time "every penny matters" even for big clubs in Poland and you can't get bigger than Legia and Lech. By playing behind closed doors they are losing millions every week. Both clubs are desperate to pick up some money from the pitch and bonuses for reaching semi finals in the Polish Cup and are just too big to refuse. 1st Liga rivals should be no match, yet still we're only choosing for Legia and Lech TO QUALIFY.

Back to both home teams: They both played two matches after the winter break and they've shown how inconsistent they're in this season. Miedź Legnica has won against rock bottom Chojnice but LOST AT HOME to Sosnowiec without even scoring. Respectively Stal Mielec has won 0:5 in their first game in March. Then week after LOST AT HOME to average Termalica also without scoring. IMO teams like Warta or Podbeskidzie are much better in 1st Liga.

I've looked into the history to find of how Legia and Lech have performed against Non-Ekstraklasa teams in the cup competition:

When Lech Poznań was knocked out by a lower league team it was over 6 years ago. Back in 2013 they lost to Miedź Legnica.

But for Legia... OMG their last Cup loss vs a lower leauge team was back in 2006 and it was Stal Sanok.

Quality and skills! Last weekend I was watching big Bundesliga clubs like Munich and Dortmund. I wanted to see how both big teams are performing after this pandemic. I have to admit that quality and the individual skills of star players were a deciding factor in both wins. I can see the two similar battles in Polish Cup. There is much better individual skills in both Poznań and Warsaw players who will decide that the two Polish "giants" will be better against two 1st Liga rivals. Especially in a time when ever penny matters.
