The rematch between FPX and MAD Lions

MAD Lions

MAD Lions have kicked off Flashpoint with an impressive 6-1 in matches with their only loss coming in their first match by HAVU. The last 5 matches they've played have also all been 2-0 wins. 2 against HAVU, 1 against Chaos and 1 against todays opponents Fun Plus Phoenix.

A few months back they replaced their old in game leader Hunden with Acilion, Hunden is known to be one of the best leaders in CS history but he's also known for performing really bad statistically. HUNDEN in the last 12 months had a 0.85 rating while Acilion in the last 12 months has a much more reasonable 1.01. Since Acilion has joined although they may have lost someone that's better at calling in game they now how a 5th player who is also up there fragging with the rest of the team and I think it's showing and MAD Lions are already looking better than they ever have.

Fun Plus Phoenix

This FPX roster is currently 2-2 at Flashpoint with the losses coming from MAD Lions and c0ntact however in their 2 wins they also beat c0ntact giving them a 1-1 record vs them and their other win was against Chaos. So far in Flashpoint they have picked Inferno in 3 games and lost it all 3 games, 2 of them ended up in a series win for them even after losing their own pick and 1 resulted in a loss still vs c0ntact. This to me is worrying because statistically it's meant to be a great map for them and a map they can pick to punish against alot of teams.

One big factor of this FPX team that makes them in my opinion to never be able to compete at international level is their awper ptr. He's been around the scene what seems forever and is one of the veterans of CS but he reminds me so much of Guardian. Both are 28, both are veterans but both are just way past their glory days and for me neither have anything left to prove because neither will ever be playing to they level they was at their peaks. I think if FPX got a young awper who has alot of skill and can take over a game by himself if needed they could have alot more runs internationally but with ptr I just never see it happening because he's just way too 'average'.

My Bet Reasoning

MAD Lions already have a 2-0 win vs FPX and it looked extremely comfortable in both maps for them. Since the last match I just don't see how FPX could of prepared any differently for the result to be different.

FPX don't have a punish pick they can take vs MAD Lions and I expect any map they pick MAD Lions will be fine playing. It also helps alot for MAD Lions when their permanent ban is Inferno and this just happens to also be FPX's most played and best map.
