Predators look to end their defensive struggles against the Jets
Hockey lovers can expect a busy Tuesday night with 13 games on the card in the NHL. There seems little left of the good start of the Nashville Predators. Do they know how to turn things around against the Winnipeg Jets tonight?
Predators' seeking a win
The Nashville Predators suprised many during the early season 'cause this time they didn't rely mainly on their strong defence, but it was actually their defensive duo, Ryan Ellis and Roman Josi, that excelled at the other end of the ice. They are leading the charge for the Nashville Predators, together they are good for 37 points. With the NHL season six weeks underway it's time for teammates to step up when we talk about the contribution of goals.
Filip Forsberg does just that, the Swede missed two weeks in October due to a lower-body injury, but he's on a tear lately. Despite his strong play, it's the defensive vulnerability of Nashville in the last few games that stands out in particular. The Predators gave up 23 goals in their last four games, with that amount, it's gonna be hard to win games. Last Saturday they were embarrassed by the Chicago Blackhawks, who won 7-2 in Nashville.
Jets' in fine form
For the Winnipeg Jets, the start of the new NHL season was anything but smooth. The hockey team had to deal with a couple of injuries and the results remained inconsistent. Since November, Winnipeg have been surging. Six of the last eight games were won and as a result, the hockey team has risen to third place in the Central Division.
Connor Hellebuyck is getting back on track after a slower start. The goalie has an impressive save percentage of .927 going with a goals against average of 2.44 goals per game. But also the offense stepped up during the last few weeks, scoring three goals or more during six of the eight games played in November.
Value on the team total
The defensive vulnerability of the Nashville Predators is slowly beginning to take on serious proportions. They start with backup goalie Juuse Saros this Tuesday night, after Pekka Rinne struggled to reach his normal level recently. Especially at home, the Predators seemed to be a difficult team to beat this season, but after three consecutive home defeats this can't be said anymore. The Winnipeg Jets are 7-2-1 in their past 10 games and don't have a hard time finding the net.
