Will the Anaheim Ducks improve their already great home record?

Tonight there'll be 11 games played in the NHL, so we get a busy card with a lot of betting options. The Minnesota Wild will visit Honda Center for a match against The Anaheim Ducks. Their away record is horrendous, while the Ducks are impressive in their own barn.

Gibson playing at a high level

John Gibson made his debut in the NHL as a twenty year old rookie for the Anaheim Ducks about 5.5 years ago. The goalie is still only 26 years old, but is considered to be one of the best goalkeepers of the NHL. Also in the early new season he's making a huge positive contribution again. He has a goals against average of 2.51 and a save percentage of 92.6%.

Gibson didn't play in the recent 3-2 loss against the Chicago Blackhawks, but he played extremely well against the Vancouver Canucks last weekend, making 39 saves in the Anaheim Ducks' 2-1 victory. Anaheim started their season probably even slightly better than they expected, even a little better than they probably expected. The results are mainly achieved during home games, with a 6-1-1 record they'll start tonight's game with good confidence.

Wild's offense is lacking

The atmosphere around the Minnesota Wild won't be very good at the moment, to say the least. They're standing seventh in the Central Division with 9 points out of 14 matches and having a really hard time to win matches away from home. Of the nine away games, only one was won and this will worry coach Bruce Boudreau.

The Wild are on a three-game losing streak and want to snap this one as soon as possible. They're scoring an average of 2.35 goals per game and this is simply not enough to book yourself a ticket for the Stanley Cup playoffs. That Eric Staal is the team leader in points (4 goals, 6 assists) isn't that surprising, but Brad Hunt can be seen as one of the few bright spots, scoring 4 goals and giving the same amount assists.

Wild won't crack Gibson.

The Ducks are 8-1-1 at home, while the Wild are 1-8 on the road. Gibson plays at a high level again this season. He slowed a high-flying Canucks offense last Friday night in a phenomenal performance. The offense of Minnesota don't impress me at all so I expect another great performance of Gibson to give Anaheim another win. They only have to reduce their penalties 'cause the power play of the Wild can still be dangerous.
