Will the Nashville Predators be able to extend their winning streak?

It's Halloween and tonight there are only two matches on the card in the NHL. The Nashville Predators will welcome the Calgary Flames at Bridgestone Arena. Last season Nashville lost two of the three meetings, can they get revenge tonight against their Conference rivals?

Preds on a 4 game winning streak

The Nashville Predators started the season in an excellent way. Their Central Division looks really though this season with the Colorado Avalanche, who impressed the most during the early season and The St. Louis Blues, current holders of the Stanley Cup. Nashville is standing 2nd in the Central Division, only one point behind the Avs.

Last Tuesday night the Predators improved their record on the season to 8-3-1 with a 3-0 win over the Chicago Blackhawks. Nick Bonino scored three goals for his third career hat trick, lifted Nashville's winning streak to 4. They scored 16 times and only gave up 3 goals during this streak. Pekka Rinne looks outstanding during the early season. 'cause the win against the Blackhawks was already his 7th of the season and he didn't lose in regulation yet.

Flames perform inconsistently

The Calgary Flames won the title in the Pacific Division last season. In the first month of 2019-20, the Flames have played 14th games, but they're standing on a disappointing 6th place at the moment. They perform quite incosistently, winning consecutive matches just once.

In the near future they'll need to be tighter on defense 'cause the fans will begin to worry a bit. The Flames allowing 2.93 goals per game and that's more than they score per game (2.50 goals). On the other hand Sean Monahan needs to step up on the other side of the ice 'cause the center has gone the last 12 games without a goal. It's Johhny Gaudreau who currently leads the Flames with 11 points (3 goals, 8 assists).

Nashville wins in their own barn

The Nashville Predators are currently playing on a high level. They want to extend their winning streak to 5 games and have every chance against the Calgary Flames, who lost 3 of their last 4 matches. Roman Josi and Ryan Ellis are also impressive, the defensive duo has 13 points in the first 12 games. They're scoring the most goals per game and Rinne is one of the best performing goalkeepers during the first month of the season.
