Let's get this player party started

Splitting my first two bets on here was probably just fair as you couldn't see these previews beforehand. Now this will mark my first tip on this platform you can actually jump on. I hope you all enjoy the writeups. Make sure to give @theplayercom a follow on Twitter. Moreover, I will link every bet to my personal account @MatterTipTennis.

Seyboth Wild finally breaking through at challenger level

Thiago Seyboth Wild is a player I've put my eyes on pretty early. I first saw him at the Roland Garros junior event in 2017 where he lost to Miomir Kecmanovic in three tough sets. After winning his first ITF event in Turkey, he stepped up to the challenger tour where he immediately beat Nicolas Jarry in his first match in Rio de Janeiro. This was followed by a great fight against Hernandez-Fernandez where he got injured pretty badly.

After that, 2018 and 19 have been a bit more quiet, his US Open junior title last year being the exception. Regardless, you can see by his scheduling that the Brazilian aims big. Apart from two 25Ks in France, from which he won one, he's only playing challenger and ATP events this year, while working hard behind the scenes. This seems to finally pay off this week in Cordenons, Italy. He only lost one set in his first three rounds, beating Gimeno-Traver, Barrios Vera and Andrej Martin whom he absolutely crushed with 6-2 6-2, putting up some brilliant ball striking.

Nothing Piros does better than Seyboth Wild

He's facing another skilled player in Zsombor Piros today, who beat Gerard Granollers, Serdarusic and back-from-injury Kavcic the previous rounds. There's not much between these two players, but the young Brazilian looks as good as ever and there's literally nothing Piros does that Wild can't do. The US Open juniors champion has the bigger serve and his hold/break stats are a tad better as well. His backhand looked raw to me in the past, but I definitely give him the matchup advantage here. Piros tries to avoid his backhand as much as he can and only pushes it back when he's in trouble on the backhand side. Seyboth Wild on the contrary looks rock-solid on both wings this week and his hitting from the baseline is a joy to watch.

The Brazilian is the entitled favorite and I don't have an issue in buying two games and bet him on the -1.5 game handicap as he frequently wins sets in straightforward fashion.
